Friday June 25th 2010 - Atlantic City Overnight Poker Run
This annual event has been the epicenter of the NJPPC schedule since it’s inception back in 1998. Three years ago, we moved this event to a Friday instead of Saturday. The result? A 95% approval rating from the attendees!! Half of the participants went home on Saturday.
Harrison Township may switch its moniker from Boat Town to Powerboat Town this weekend with the arrival of the Offshore Powerboat Association Racing Series that will take over parts of Lake St. Clair.
With a variety of meet-the-racers events and celebrations leading up to Sunday’s event, the boating community is geared up to see multimillion-dollar vessels competing in speeds above 100 mph.
The St. Clair River Classic is rated as one of the top offshore racing sites in the United States. The race begins at noon on Sunday with viewing available from Palmer Park in downtown St. Clair.
"The venue is ideal for both racers and spectators. Everything is within walking distance," Blue Water Offshore Racing Association President Ed Smith of St. Clair said.
If you are thrilled by the excitement of boat racing, the Battle On The Bay is not to be missed! Featured will be several classes of boats, with race speeds between 75 and 200 miles per hour.
The race course is on the Great South Bay, in Patchogue between Blue Point and Bellport. There is an anchorage area on the south side of the course for spectators who want to view the races from their boats; the races are also visible from Shorefront Park in Patchogue.

20th Annual Super Boat Race Ready For New York City
This weekend is the running of The 20th Annual New York Super Boat Grand Prix on the Hudson River, between New Jersey and New York City. Hurricane Igor forces organizers to cancel Atlantic City power boat races
Hurricane Igor proved too powerful for the fastest power boats in the world, as rough surf created by the storm in Bermuda canceled Atlantic City's hyped return to power boat racing Sunday.
Despite the setback, the Offshore Power Boat Association plans to bring a race to Atlantic City next year, spokesman Frank Caiozzo said.

Champions of Power Boating Set to Shred Lake Alfred
The top power boat drivers in the world race Friday through Sunday in the Race for the Kids Foundation International Power Boat World Cup on Lake Alfred.
More than 115 drivers from the United States, Europe and even China who competed in the American Power Boat Association (APBA) and Union International Motorboating (UIM) events in the past year will push the throttles in 13-foot carbon fiber and wood boats at speeds up to 120 mph in an effort to claim the title as world's best.
WHM Wins Overall in 30th Annual Key West World Championship Event
Super Boat International hosted one of the best World Championships ever with 54 boats competing in three days of racing. Taking the overall victory was multi-time world champion WHM Motorsports. Driver, Billy Mauff and Throttleman, Jay Mueller took top honors while other World Champions were earning their place in history in other Vee-bottom and Super Cat classes.
